Five Winning Photographers Will Be Featured in a 30-Second Instaprints Television Commercial Airing This Fall Across the United States
LOS ANGELES–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Instaprints, an online marketplace for buying and selling Instagram photos as framed prints, canvas prints, greeting cards and posters, today announced a compelling photo contest offering photographers around the world the unique opportunity to have their work featured in a 30-second Instaprints television commercial. The commercial will be aired nationally throughout the United States reaching a minimum of ten million viewers during the month of September 2012.
Each winner will have one of his or her images displayed on air for five seconds while a voiceover artist explains the Instaprints business model and the virtues of buying artwork from living artists and photographers. For maximum exposure, each image will fill the entire frame and will include the photographer’s headshot, name and hometown overlaid at the bottom left corner.
In addition, TV viewers will be encouraged by the voiceover artist and the on-screen URL to visit instaprints.com/tv. On that page, there will be links to each of the five images that were featured in the commercial along with biographies for each of the five winners.
“We launched Instaprints last month as a way for casual and serious photographers from around the world to quickly and easily set up online businesses selling their Instagram photos,” said Sean Broihier, founder of Instaprints. “This contest is a fun way to give Instaprints users recognition for the compelling Instagram photos they capture every day.”
Site Visitors Can Cast Their Votes
During the open voting period which runs now through August 15, 2012, visitors to Instaprints.com are able to view all of the contest submissions and cast votes for their favorite photos. Participating members are encouraged to tell their friends, family and fans to vote to ensure that they reach the minimum 250 votes to be considered for the prize.
Open voting ends at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Daylight Time in the United States) on August 15. At that time, all photographs that have received at least 250 votes from the general public will become eligible for final selection by a jury of Instaprints staff members and a select panel of jurors.
The panel of jurors will be announced on or before August 15 and will have until August 31 to cast their votes. The decision of the jurors is final and the resulting five winners will be announced Instaprints.com on September 1. How Instaprints Works
Instagram users can open a free account on Instaprints.com, import their photos and begin selling print products in less than a minute. Instaprints sets a base price for each available product, and sellers then add a markup to each base price. When a sale is made, sellers keep their entire markup.
Instaprints processes each order on behalf of the sellers, including: printing, framing, matting, packaging, shipping, collecting payments from the buyers and sending profits to the sellers. Each print is manufactured at one of Instaprints’ three U.S. production facilities and delivered “ready-to-hang” with a 30-day money-back guarantee.
In addition to providing an online marketplace and order fulfillment service, Instaprints.com also includes community features which allow buyers and sellers to follow their favorite photographers, participate in online discussions, advertise local events, chat live with other members, and comment on their favorite photos.
