DENVER–(BUSINESS WIRE)–June 20, 2012 – Wayin, an online social engagement service, announced the availability of the TwitPolls Photoboard, a group photo and video sharing feature within TwitPolls that allows people, companies and brands to collectively share, rate and comment upon images easily by submitting photos via Twitter, TwitPolls.com or e-mail on a computer, tablet or mobile phone. TwitPolls, a product of Wayin, was the first real-time polling service available completely within the Twitter stream.
The photos and videos submitted to a TwitPolls Photoboard are shared in a visually appealing collage format that allows participants to reply, comment, share and rate the photos, just as easily as responding to a tweet in Twitter. The functionality is enabled, in part, by Twitter’s recently announced expanded tweets capability.
Through TwitPolls Photoboard, friends, families, colleagues, customers or fans can share their favorite images from an event instantaneously and collectively. Photoboard participants can create a contest or theme to actively involve their followers. Media can use the Photoboard as a way for viewers and readers to share images from a news event, moment or location. Fans attending a sports event or music concert can post photos to share, rate and comment upon. Brands can host photo contest for the best photo of the day, week, month or season.
“TwitPolls Photoboard literally allows photos to be crowd sourced in real-time,” said Tom Jessiman, CEO of Wayin. “The technical sharing capabilities of TwitPolls Photoboard are much more than pinning photos to a board, creating an album or sending out individual images to followers. No one else is aggregating images the way we are at Wayin. Our goal is to have a powerful product that is used by consumers, brands and companies to help them enhance audience engagement and further their status on Twitter.”
Early users of TwitPolls Photoboard include World Wresting Entertainment (WWE), Denver Nuggets and the PGA TOUR.
“We built our first Photoboard around a Father’s Day theme, asking our fans to send in pictures of themselves with their dads on the golf course,” said Luis Goicouria, Vice President, New Media Business Development and Operations, PGA TOUR. “The response that we received was outstanding and our fans really seemed to enjoy the board, commenting on each other’s pictures and telling their friends how to get involved. Even some of our players sent in photos of their fathers, which made the entire project even more exciting for all of the fans involved. We’re looking forward to finding interesting new ways for our fans to share their photos with this service in the future.”
